Become a UK Parliament Teacher Ambassador
As a UK Parliament Teacher Ambassador, expand your students’ and colleagues’ understanding of how their Parliament works.
This is a unique opportunity to progress in your career as an accredited partner of UK Parliament.
Step one: Teachers’ Institute
This three-day immersive experience lays the foundation for your ongoing work towards Ambassador status.
Teachers’ Institute is free of charge, with travel costs, accommodation, and most meals included. During this intensive, inspiring course you will:
- have guided tours of the Palace of Westminster
- watch debates in both Chambers
- take part in Q&A sessions with MPs and Lords
- deepen your knowledge of UK Parliament and democracy
- plan activities and create classroom resources for your students
- network with Teacher Ambassadors from across the UK.

Step two: Bronze, silver, or gold status
Returning to your school or college, you’ll deliver assemblies, workshops, and training to your students and fellow teachers.
Using the skills and resources you developed at Teachers’ Institute, you’ll work towards your choice of bronze, silver, or gold accreditation and build your portfolio.
Step three: Success!
Using that portfolio as evidence of your good work, you’ll receive your accreditation and join the Teacher Ambassador community.
Along with a formal certificate and badge for your school’s website, you’ll enjoy close, ongoing support from your fellow Teacher Ambassadors and from the team at UK Parliament.

It has been the most amazing course I’ve been on. I’ve found it has really fired my passion again. It has given me real and practical ideas I can take back to school.
